FAQs

What is the difference between a Coach and a Therapist?

Coaching is centred on meeting you where you are at now and exploring what that looks and feels like. By exploring what your hopes and aspirations for the future are we then consider what you want to have happen or achieve and what that looks like. Coaching takes place between the two. Essentially my goal as a coach is to walk alongside you and help you get from where you are today to where you want to be in the future.

In contrast, therapy takes place between where the client is now and past psychological injury or trauma. Therapy is often about processing and unpacking what has happened in an effort move the client forward.

What is a MindBody Practitioner?

A Mind-Body Practitioner offers a deep understanding of what contributes to our emotional and physical health via neuro-education, a deep awareness of the powerful mind-body connection and how thoughts contribute to physical stress, impacting the health and function of the nervous & immune systems.

What is a Mental Health Coach?

As a Certified Mental Health Coach, I have been trained in the latest lifestyle medicine and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a mindfulness based behavioural therapy. ACT can help you move forward when you are feeling stuck in life. Various techniques are used to support you to take action to create meaningful changes in your life.

Mental Health Coaching may be for you if you are experiencing:

  • Mild to moderate anxiety or depression.

  • Feeling lost and disconnected, like you have lost your direction.

  • Feeling worried and experiencing a lack of motivation.

  • Experiencing changes to mood or daily habits.

  • Feeling stuck and in a rut.

  • Procrastinating and having difficulty making decisions.

  • Would like to change the relationship you have with your thoughts so they have less power over you.
